Keep Scrollin' - we like to keep this website thing primitive!
There is a map at the end. But if you've never been to the shop or
the Village of the Arts, it is a good idea to use Mapquest or Yahoo Maps
Bradenton isn't the easiest town to find your way around!

What Our Store Phone Message Used to Say (we've shortened it!):

Thanks for calling The Village Bookshop
Listen carefully as I will have to give you some necessary information very
quickly so you won’t be bored to death before you reach the voicemail beep.
First a general note for everyone: TVB’s hours are (see below). We host a
poets&writers group on each Thursday at 7p.m. with the exception of the
Thursday before the first Friday. Open Mic is held every month on the First
Fri in the garden at 8 p.m. . . .

If you’re a customer inquiring about the store or a specific book, your call
is most welcome, and we will respond as soon as possible. If the book you’ve
asked for is not in the shop we will not return your call. However, we do have a one-
time only offer to all who come into the store. If you cannot find the book
you’re looking for on our shelves – we’ll be happy to order it for you, and
sell it to you for our cost plus tax.

Yes, we do appraise books deemed collectible, and give you an appropriate
quote for their value. However, we will refer you to another dealer if the book
is outside the range of our expertise, and our appraisal is not a guarantee we
will be interested in purchasing the book or books from you.

If your inquiry regards the sale of used books we’re sorry but we are not
buying used books at this time.

For all others, including sales reps., authors, publicists, artists and
sideline promotions, me and my two employees, myself & I, do screen calls and
sadly we cannot respond to all requests. Author signings are typically
scheduled for the artwalk weekends, and we’re currently booked for the first
three months of 2008.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to your visit soon.
